Top spots to hit the slopes

There is yet another entrant in the seemingly never-ending genre of bucket-list travel books. The newest one, "Fifty Places to Ski & Snowboard Before You Die" ($24.95), highlights the faves of people who truly know — professional skiers, ski journalists and others obsessed by slopes. If they'd asked hometown gal Lindsey Vonn, do you suppose she might have recommended Burnsville's Buck Hill? We'll never know.

Rental car deals away from airports

Enterprise has a sale on weekend car rental rates at select neighborhood locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. Economy/compact cars now cost $9.99 per day, intermediate $14.99, standard $17.99 and full-size $19.99, plus taxes.
