This is an Internet emergency.

Ok, not quite. But it's pretty important. Because cat videos.

It's time to vote for the best cat video on the Internet in 2014 and bestow one lucky feline with the Golden Kitty Award. The people's choice prize will be awarded August 14 at the Walker Art Center's Internet Cat Video Festival.

Who will follow in the pawprints previous winners of "Henri 2: Paw de Deux" and "The Original Grumpy Cat," now both so famous? The competition is steep. There are Jedis and attention seekers, would-be thieves, addicted cats and engineer-owned cats.

Watch carefully and choose wisely. The nominees are:

"8 Signs of Addiction" by Sho Ko

"An Engineers Guide to Cats 2.0 - The Sequel" by klusmanp

"Gotcha!" by ignoramusky

"Jedi Kittens Strike Back" by FinalCutKing

"Milo Wanted Attention" by jahzyoga

Vote on the Internet Cat Video Festival website or on Twitter by following @CatVidFest and tweeting your pick with the hashtag #goldenkittyaward. Voting ends July 18 at midnight.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled Internet activities.
