Light rail traffic was disrupted briefly in Minneapolis Friday evening after a driver who experienced a medical emergency turned onto Metro Transit's Blue Line tracks near E. 35th Street and stopped her vehicle on the southbound track. The incident happened about 6:50 p.m.

Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland said the woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She was not hit by any trains.

Trains traveling both directions were routed through the area on a single track temporarily.

The vehicle was towed about 7:20 p.m. and trains were soon back on scheduled, Siqveland said.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
