A driver whose SUV collided with an ambulance that was on a call in Wright County during a recent snowstorm has died, according to family members.
Marilyn Paumen, 51, of Monticello, died at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale on Wednesday, 11 days after her SUV struck the ambulance head-on early on Jan. 18 in Buffalo Township.
The two Allina Health medical workers in the ambulance were seriously injured and face long recoveries.
Emergency medical technician Tim Daly, 43, of Albertville, faces extensive surgery and has been told to expect up to three months or so living from a wheelchair, according to Allina officials. Paramedic Brian Nagel, 30, of Greenwood, arrived with critical injuries at North Memorial, where he remains in fair condition.
The Allina patient in the ambulance, Laura Worley, 35, of St. Michael, was moved to a replacement ambulance and continued on to Buffalo Hospital.
