Columbia Heights Police are looking for at least three suspects who broke into a liquor store early Thursday.

Surveillance video showed two masked men and one man who did not have his face covered smashing a glass door to gain entry to one of the city-run liquor stores around 5:25 a.m.

The suspects ripped a speaker off the wall, knocked over some merchandise and tried to gain access to the cash register inside the store at 5225 University Av. NE. They didn't get any money and nothing was stolen, police said.

It's not clear if the same suspects are responsible for a burglary about 1 hour earlier at a Fridley retailer. Lt. Mike Monsrud of the Fridley Police said somebody kicked out the glass of the front door of What Not around 4:24 a.m. The perpetrators took $30 from the cash register of the dollar store at 6538 University Av. NE.

Anybody with information is asked to call Columbia Heights Police at 763-706-3750 or Fridley Police at 763-572-3629.
