Fugitive heroin dealer is arrested in Chicago
A suspected Minneapolis drug dealer wanted on third-degree murder charges in the death of an addict has been arrested in Chicago, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
Devon McFerrin, 31, had been sought since being charged in February. He is accused of supplying the dose of heroin that killed Timothy C. St. John, 31, on Feb. 20, 2012. Prosecutors across the metro area have turned to the third-degree murder charge to push back against dealers. A record 120 people died of heroin or opiate overdoses in the Twin Cities in 2011, according to the most recent state records available.
