A man wanted in the shooting death of another man in an apartment in Winona, Minn., during a dispute over money has been tracked down in central Wisconsin and charged with murder and other felonies.

Lonnie Lavonte Keymone Hudson, 23, who recently has lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin, was arrested "after a brief foot pursuit" Friday night in Wausau, about 165 miles from last Sunday's killing, Winona police said in a statement.

Also arrested in connection with Hudson's apprehension was Kayla M. Clay, 18. She was arrested in Ettrick, Wis., and charged with aiding Hudson after the killing.

Both will have extradition hearings in Wisconsin.

A vehicle connected to the killing of Adam Tylor Fort, 31, was found, police said, as was a handgun in a La Crosse, Wis., apartment that may have been used in the shooting, police said.

Hudson is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated first-degree robbery, illegal weapons possession and second-degree assault.

Fort was shot in the torso by one of two intruders demanding money, according to police. The two fled in a car.

Authorities are asking for anyone with information to call 1-507-457-6302.

Police Chief Paul Bostrack told the Winona Daily News that the killing "definitely was not random."

Police said late last week that they suspected Hudson was "in the company" of Tyesha L. Williams, 23, of La Crosse, and her two children under age 3. Hudson has not been identified by police as the father of either child, but Wisconsin court records show that he and Williams have been parties in the same paternity case, and a birth notice in a local newspaper listed Williams and Hudson as new parents in December 2012.

Hudson's criminal history in Minnesota and Wisconsin includes convictions for disorderly conduct, damage to property, fleeing police, resisting arrest, jumping bail and drunken driving.

An obituary posted on a funeral home website said Fort graduated from Winona High School in 2002 and studied computer science at Southeast Technical college. He worked as a machine operator, taught piano and played in several bands over the years.
