Police in the western Twin Cities metro area and the FBI are seeking the public's help in finding a man who robbed the MidCountry Bank at a Cub Foods store in Shorewood on Sunday morning.

Officers from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department were summoned to the store just after 10:30 a.m., according to Police Chief Bryan Litsey.

The man wielded a handgun during the robbery and fled the store on foot. The search that followed involved several area police departments, a canine unit from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, but the suspect had not been located as of Sunday evening.

No one was hurt during the robbery, Litsey said.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male in his 20s with a slender build and of medium height. He was wearing a blue and red baseball cap displaying the Cleveland Indians logo and dark clothing that included an untucked short-sleeve shirt, jeans and athletic shoes.

Authorities have asked that anyone with information call 952-474-3261 or 763-525-6210.
