PINE CITY, Minn. — Pine County prosecutors have charged a Wyoming, Minn., man with criminal vehicular homicide in the hit-and-run death of an Army veteran in Hinckley last week.
Twenty-four-year-old Trevor Langlois, also of Wyoming, Minn., developed problems with his truck and pulled over on an entrance ramp to I-35 in Hinckley June 17 when a truck hit him and drove off.
On Friday, prosecutors charged 31-year-old Derek Anthony Sanders, who was arrested at his parents' home Wednesday by officers acting on a tip from the public.
According to the criminal complaint, Sanders admitted to investigators he'd had "half a dozen or so" drinks before the accident and shouldn't have been driving. It says he claimed he was looking down at the time and wasn't aware he had struck a person.
