Suspect arrested in St. Paul after woman found slain in White Bear Lake

January 8, 2013 at 5:42AM

St. Paul police arrested a man Monday night in connection with the death of woman whose body was found inside a White Bear Lake garage earlier in the day.

White Bear Lake police were called to a house in the 2200 block of 8th Street on Monday afternoon, when they found the woman's body, said St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla. Information led investigators to a residence in the 1400 block of Sheldon Street in St. Paul, where police arrested a man in connection with the death, Padilla said.

Police declined to release any information about how the woman was killed, her name or the relationship between the man and woman.

"It was not a random act," Padilla said.

The man is being held in Ramsey County jail. Police plan to release more information Tuesday.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
