There might be a point in time where surveys like this are not even a thing and certainly when they're not news, but when USA Today asked 35 anonymous NHL players if they'd accept an openly gay teammate and all but one said yes, it still struck me as interesting.

The survey was conducted last week during the NHL/NHL Players' Association Media tour.

The associated quote from 60-year-old Calgary President Brian Burke, by the way, was pretty terrific.

"I'm not surprised by that," said Calgary Flames president Brian Burke. "I'm disappointed by the one player. I don't think our players have an issue with gay players. I think the first player to come out is going to find an unbelievably welcome reception. I think my generation has a bigger problem than their generation when it comes views on the gay community."

You can read the full report, which includes several other survey questions, right here.
