SuperValu announced Friday that is it moving jobs from a distribution center in central Ohio to two other states, including Minnesota.

The Eden Prairie-based supermarket giant did not specify how many jobs at the distribution complex in Xenia, Ohio, would be relocated to Minnesota. Some also are being consolidated to a distribution center in Virginia.

The company said some office jobs will remain at the Ohio operation, particularly marketing and retail technology workers, but other staff positions, such as those in human resources and information technology, are likely to be affected. Workers were notified Friday of the planned changes and will be extended offers to take the out-of-state jobs. The changes are part of a realignment of some of SuperValu's regional operations. The job relocations come shortly after SuperValu announced it was shuttering its three Sunflower Markets in Columbus, Ohio. The company said it was closing the stores there because they were not meeting performance standards.
