Scott Green, who has been selected to be the referee for the Super Bowl on Sunday, worked one Vikings game this season. Green ran the show for the Vikings' 30-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 13 at the Metrodome.

The Vikings were called for nine penalties for 69 yards that day and the Bengals were whistled for 11 penalties for 85 yards. That game was so one-sided that it's difficult to say what any of us thought of the job Green did that day.

On another note, it sounds as if the NFL won't make any decision on whether to fine Vikings left tackle Bryant McKinnie for missing Pro Bowl practices and getting kicked off the team until next week at the earliest.
