Sunday Insider: Fourth and five

October 16, 2011 at 5:16AM

Three observations ...• Saints safety Roman Harper said it was worth $15,000 to hit Panthers receiver Steve Smith well after Smith crossed the goal line. Maybe a one-game suspension would change the mind of the next person who does that.

• We enjoy the lively quotes, but some players just aren't very smart. Miami's Brandon Marshall said his goal, seriously, is to be so emotional that he gets ejected in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Jets.

• Former Cowboy Deion Sanders said Tony Romo would not lead the Cowboys to their next championship. Romo vowed to "win a Super Bowl, at some point." Put me down on Prime Time's side of the fence.

Two bold predictions ...• The Vikings are 1-9 on the road against the Bears the past 10 years, but they'll win 23-20 on Sunday night. Why? They're more physical. And as Mike Tice taught us, Chicago is a "tough-guy town."

• The Eagles will win at Washington, ending a four-game losing streak heading into their bye and a three-week homestand that could get the alleged Dream Team to 5-4.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
