Orioles appear legit That season-opening sweep at Baltimore no longer looks so bad for the Twins. The first-place Orioles entered Saturday with the American League's second-best ERA (at 3.33), including a major league best 2.07 ERA from the bullpen. The Orioles also led the majors with 62 homers, including 13 from Adam Jones and nine from J.J. Hardy.

Nathan lighting it up Joe Nathan has pitched in four consecutive games entering Saturday, and in the middle of that stretch, his fastball was clocked at 95-96 miles per hour. He had nine saves in his first 10 chances for the Rangers. "He's back," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "He has tremendous stuff."

Shades of the Killer When Bryce Harper hit his first home run Monday at the age of 19 years and 211 days, he became the youngest player on a Washington team to homer since Twins great Harmon Killebrew. The Hall of Famer's first career homer came for the Senators on June 24, 1955 -- five days before his 19th birthday.
