While residents of the Eastern U.S. experience summer-like warmth thisweekend, parts of Africa to India will continue to experience summer-likeweather. Fueled by a large dome of high pressure, temperatures will soar above40 degrees C (104 degrees F) from Sudan to India this weekend.High temperatures have already exceeded 40 degrees C (104 degrees F) acrossthe Sudan during the past few days and could even reach 50 degrees C (122degrees F) this weekend. On the Arabian Peninsula, the high temperature atYaaloni, Oman exceeded 50 degrees C over the past few days.

Temperatures commonly exceed 40 degrees C during the months of June throughAugust, and can frequently reach 50 degrees C. Normal high temperatures for theend of April are in the 30s C (middle 80s to lower 100s F) throughoutnortheastern Africa to northern India.

Interestingly, according to AccuWeather.com, Long Range and Global WeatherPattern Expert, Joe Bastardi there is some correlation to the sinking airresponsible for the sunshine and heat in southern Asia and other parts of theworld. The current set-up has allowed for recent warm, sunny conditions over alarge part of Europe and now the central and eastern U.S.
