Center John Sullivan likely will start for the Vikings on Sunday night against the Packers after missing the past two games because of a calf injury. Meanwhile, wide receiver Percy Harvin, who turned up on the injury report Thursday after being limited in practice because of an issue with his hamstring, said Friday he is good to go.
Coach Brad Childress said Sullivan and Jon Cooper probably both will be used at center as Sullivan returns after being injured on the Vikings' first play from scrimmage against Detroit on Sept. 26. It's also expected that Asher Allen will get the starting assignment at right cornerback and if rookie Chris Cook is able to return from a knee injury he will play in the nickel defense. Cook is listed as probable, meaning it's a "virtual certainty" he will play.
Strong safety Husain Abdullah (concussion) missed a third consecutive day of practice Friday and has been declared out for Sunday. Jamarca Sanford and Tyrell Johnson both are expected to see playing time. Johnson, the starter at strong safety last season, has been a healthy inactive the past three games.
Harvin was limited in practice again Friday but is among nine players listed as probable on the Vikings' injury report. That list includes quarterback Brett Favre, who took part in all of Friday's practice. Also probable are offensive linemen Ryan Cook (wrist); defensive tackle Letroy Guion (toe); linebacker E.J. Henderson (knee); tight end Jim Kleinsasser (groin); defensive end Brian Robison (ankle); and Sullivan (calf).
"I'm fine," Harvin said. "Really don't know why [I'm on the injury report] but I'm fine and I should be ready to go." Asked if he had any concerns for this game, Harvin smiled and said, "Not at all, not at all."
The Packers injury report, which has 13 players on it, lists defensive end Mike Neal (shoulder) and linebacker Brady Poppinga (knee) as out.
Offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse (back) is doubtful and linebackers Brandon Chillar (shoulder) and Clay Matthews (hamstring), defensive lineman Ryan Pickett (ankle) and offensive tackle Mark Tauscher (shoulder) are questionable.
Listed as probable are left tackle Chad Clifton (knee), safety Nick Collins (knee), wide receiver Donald Driver (quadriceps), linebacker A.J. Hawk (groin), defensive end Cullen Jenkins (hand), and cornerback Charles Woodson (toe).
