Sullivan, Shiancoe sidelined

John Sullivan and Visanthe Shiancoe not participating in first post-bye practice

October 4, 2010 at 5:29PM

The Vikings are holding their first post-bye week practice Monday and they are without two starters.

Center John Sullivan and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe are not taking part in practice after suffering injuries against Detroit. Both players are on the field watching and Shiancoe did some conditioning work on the side.

Sullivan suffered a calf injury on the team's first offensive play last Sunday and was replaced by Ryan Cook.

Shiancoe injured a hamstring and did not return last week. Shiancoe did some running on the side field and on the hill next to the practice field during the individual portion of Monday's practice so he appears to be making progress.

Media access follows practice so we'll be back shortly with updates.
