A few weeks ago, I shared my enthusiasm for successfully opting out of receiving the Superpages phonebook. Last night, I received another door tag letting me know that this time I had successfully opted out of the Dex phonebook. What a nice change from being greeted by an unwanted stack of phonebooks at my door.
When I signed up to opt out of the phonebooks last fall on www.DontTrashThePhoneBook.org, I opted out of all three phonebooks: Supermedia, Dex and Yellowbook. So far, I have gotten notice from two out of the three companies that they have successfully completed my requests, in lieu of receiving a phonebook. This is a great sign, as it attests to the functionality of the program that is being put on by Conservation Minnesota and the phonebook companies. The program is the first of its kind and now I can see that it really works!
Opt out for yourself and enjoy for the first time the freedom of choosing not to receive a phonebook.
