As if a Suburbs reunion show wasn't already enough of a guaranteed good time, the beloved Twin Cities dance-punk-party band could really have a lot of fun at its show Friday for Lumberjack Days in Stillwater. First off, singer/guitarist Beej Chaney is once again returning home for the gig, performing with the same fill-in lineup that played the terrificly spirited tribute show to late guitarist Bruce Allen back in February. "We've been practicing even," singer/keyboardist Chan Poling (humorously) reported. For those Suburbs fans who haven't previously been to Lumberjack Days for the classic-rock acts typically booked there (Chicago is Saturday's headliner), the bands actually perform on a floating stage parked on the St. Croix in front of Lowell Park. Odds are about 2.5 to 1 that Beej can make it through the gig without falling into the river. And to add to all the mayhem, the band will be broadcasting the gig live via the web at http://www.livestream.com/indieload. For those who want to catch them in person, click here for more info.
