Walker Art Center

Art lovers, take note: The Walker Art Center Shop's winter sale is ongoing, with deepening discounts of 30, 50 and 70 percent on select items. The Walker's shop has the best art-book department in town, and it's probably the best museum gift shop in the Upper Midwest, so be sure to stop by the next time you're checking out an exhibition or dining at 20.21.

Covered

Dinkytown boutique Covered is taking 20 to 50 percent off select fall and winter merchandise. The shop's already-affordable offerings include denim, T-shirts, dresses and fitted jackets by national, lesser-known designers -- and much of it looks more expensive than it is.

    Second Debut

Ever wonder why you don't see any high-end labels at Goodwill? It might be because they send all of it to Second Debut, which is having its semiannual clearance sale. Your money is well-spent, too -- proceeds benefit Goodwill/Easter Seals' mission to provide work force development and employment services for people with disabilities.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
