Arts and crafts at the fair

The State Fair provides ample opportunities to shop for great Minnesota-made goods. Scoop up everything from an Irish beer stein at Irish on Grand to retro eyewear from the Spectacle Shoppe. You can even get your facial hair trimmed at Wahl's 30-foot mobile barbershop (Sat.-Mon.), or your hair temporarily colored with eco-friendly dyes by StormSister Spatique. I Like You's booth will be filled with Adam Turman prints, Rebecca Yaker's sock monkey tees and marble-tile gift items from Giraffe Art + Utility. Visit www.mnstatefair.org for booth locations.

Needle & Black

Former Red Shoe Clothing Co. designer Kerry Riley is celebrating her new brand, Needle & Black, with a studio grand opening and a new batch of screen-printed T-shirts. Riley is joined by new studio mate Carrier Pigeon and its collection of delicate but gritty hand-molded gold and silver pendants and earrings.
