The Gophers played a nearly complete game on Friday.
They got offense, three goals -- two in the first period, one in the second on a power play -- and 36 shots on net.
They were relentless on defense, holding Bemidji State to a paltry 13 shots on net, two in the opening period.
Their goalie played well. Kent Patterson made 13 saves and didn't allow anything past him.
They didn't commit a single penalty, nada. That's a first for them this season. The previous low was one.
They hit their opponent, the Beavers.
They limited their turnovers.
With all of those positives, the Gophers probably should have won by a few more goals. As it was, they still had a convincing 3-0 victory over Bemidji State which was 3-0-1 in its last four games. The Gophers bounced back from two losses at Denver, one in overtime.
