A powerful storm will bring high winds and heavy rain to England Saturdaynight and Sunday.From 1-2 inches of rain is expected across flood-weary England. Wind gusts past60 mph are expected in some locations.
Heavy rain will first cross Ireland. Rain will begin in Dublin around midday.
Wind gusts at the Irish Coast could top 60 mph by the end of the day. The rainwill sweep across England and Scotland late in the day or during the eveninghours. Rain will continue through Sunday morning.
The strongest winds will arrive Saturday night and continue to blow Sunday.
Winds could be strong enough to down some trees and cause damage. Waves at theIrish Coast and southwest England will be over 20 feet.
This storm comes on the heels of the wettest November on record across the U.K.
The wettest city was Shap, Cumbria, where 24.5 inches of rain fell in November.
