The severe weather threat will cover a smaller area Friday, but it willstill impact many people. The powerful thunderstorms will take aim at theheavily populated eastern mid-Atlantic states. Norfolk, Washington, D.C., andDover are among the cities, towns and rural areas the thunderstorms willthreaten.The severe weather is currently expected to remain south of Philadelphia. The strongest thunderstorms over the eastern mid-Atlantic will producedamaging winds, hail and drenching downpours. An isolated tornado or two mayalso touch down. If you are planning any outdoor activities, the afternoon willbe the best time. The severe weather will be confined to the first half ofFriday.
