Storms to Target Mid-Atlantic

The severe weather threat on Friday will shrink in areal coverage, but willstill impact many people. The powerful thunderstorms will take aim on theheavily populated eastern mid-Atlantic states. Norfolk, Washington, D.C., andDover are amongst the cities, towns and rural areas the thunderstorms willthreaten.The severe weather is currently expected to remain south of Philadelphia. Ifyou live in or are visiting the city, continue to check back withAccuWeather.com in case the threat zone shifts farther north.

The strongest thunderstorms over the eastern mid-Atlantic will producedamaging winds, hail and drenching downpours. An isolated tornado or two mayalso touch down. If you are planning any outdoor activities, the afternoon willbe the best time. The severe weather will be confined to the first half ofFriday.
