Whole Foods is elbowing its way into Edina, and Thomasville Furniture and Storables are down for the count. Thomasville started its closing sale weeks ago and it's down to just a few bedroom sets, rugs for $150, a few bright green sofas, and a couple of occasional chairs. Art and accessories are 80 percent off. The store, which is expected to close this week, is located at 7425 France Av. S., 952-835-0500. If you believe in waiting until the end and going in at the last minute with a low ball offer, this is the week.

Next door, Storables unadvertised sale started about a week ago. Everything is discounted 10 to 65 percent, including some store fixtures. When I visited last week, about half the store space had already been closed off. Since the sale had started only a couple of days before that, I was surprised at what was already gone. It is expected to be open until around Feb. 19. The store is located at 7401 France Av. S., 952-831-5600.
