Two of the liveliest free outdoor music series of the summer, the Cinema and Civics shows in south Minneapolis' Stevens Square Park and the Music in Mears in downtown St. Paul both get under way this week. Hard-stomping metalheads Nightosaur will be perfectly paired with "Jurassic Park" in Stephens Square on Wednesday (8 p.m. start). Americana/twang-rock favorites Dan Israel & the Cultivators and Crossing Guards kick off the concerts in Mears on Thursday (6-9 p.m.). The movies portion of the Mears shows doesn't start until July 19, but the beer and food stands will be there from the get-go. Here are the full lineups of each series.

Next week, with Me and My Arrow.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
