The skies have cleared at Caswell Park in North Mankato. In fact, after rain and overcast skies for almost the entire day, the sun is out now. We resumed play in the state softball quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m., and Burnsville's Kelsey Anderson picked up right where she left off in the middle of the 3A quarterfinals vs. Brainerd. Anderson hurled a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts, leading the Blaze to a 1-0 victory over Brainerd. Hastings, meanwhile, finished off a 5-0 victory over Prior Lake in the other 3A quarterfinal.

Those two teams will square off in the semifinals; with how far behind schedule we are, it's hard to say exactly when that will be. Stay tuned ...
