BROOKSVILLE, Ky. — Authorities say five people have died in a house fire in northern Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police Trooper David Jones said two bodies were removed Saturday from the scene of an overnight fire at a two-story home in Powersville, a community in Bracken County.

Rescue crews continued to search, and Jones says three more bodies were found in the rubble later Saturday.

Jones said ages and names of the victims were not available. Jones said one man survived the fire and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.

Jones said authorities have not been able to speak with the injured man. It was not clear if the victims were related.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
