October 21, 2012 at 4:50AM

A 1978 Corvette swerving near the south end of Otter Tail Lake rolled Saturday night, pinning its driver inside and killing him.

The driver, a 55-year-old man from Battle Lake, Minn., apparently swerved to miss a deer, the State Patrol said.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. on Hwy. 78 in Otter Tail County. After swerving, the Corvette skidded and lost control near milepost 28, north of Battle Lake, the State Patrol said.

The car went into a ditch before it rolled over. The driver, whose name was to be released Sunday, died at the scene.
