Learn orienteering

French Regional Park

Noon-3 p.m. Saturday

Learn map and compass skills from Minnesota Orienteering Club experts through classroom instruction, skill stations geared for beginners, guided practice courses, and an official "sprint" course with electronic punching. Lake Bemidji State Park

1-3:30 p.m. Saturday

Learn from naturalist John Fylppa how maple sap is processed. A similar program is Sunday. Dress for the weather and wear good boots. (1-218-308-2300; mndnr.gov/lakebemidji)

Yoga at the park

For stargazers

Glacial Lakes State Park

8-10 p.m. Saturday

Join the Glacial Lakes Astronomers and Stargazers Society on the first Saturday of the month, at dusk, through October. Look through a variety of telescopes and binoculars. Group members will answer questions. Meet at the Horse Camp at dusk. No equipment is necessary, but binoculars or telescopes are encouraged. Birds, nests, eggs

Eastman Nature Center

1-3 p.m. Sunday
