February 26, 2017 at 2:44PM

The Star Tribune won in every section category — known as a Grand Slam within the media industry — by finishing in the top 10 nationally for large newspapers (circulation of more than 175,000) in daily, Sunday, special sections and web sites in the annual Associated Press Sports Editors contest.

Only three other news organizations -- the Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News and Washington Post -- won in all four categories.

The Star Tribune's special section award was for its Ryder Cup preview.

Results were announced at the APSE's annual winter meeting meeting in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. It's the second Grand Slam for the Star Tribune in the past five years.
