Allison Parnell's goal at 3 minutes, 2 seconds of overtime gave fourth-seeded St. Thomas a 3-2 victory over host Augsburg on Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the MIAC women's hockey playoffs.
This was the fourth consecutive title for the Tommies (14-10-1) and gave them an automatic berth in the Division III NCAA tournament.
Second-seeded Augsburg (19-8) had a 2-1 lead until Kathryn Larson of the Tommies scored with 12:47 left in the third. Allie Borgstrom had St. Thomas' other goal 3:14 into the game.
Megan Robertson and Darby Lindgren had the goals for the Auggies.
Mackenzie Torpy had 36 saves for the Tommies, Rebecca Sonnek 33 for the Auggies.
