St. Thomas hosts lecture series on challenges facing Catholic colleges and universities

The president of Catholic University of America is slated to speak at University of St. Thomas about the challenges facing U.S. Catholic colleges and universities.

John Garvey, president of Catholic University and former dean of Boston College Law School, will discuss "The Challenges of Mission-Focused Leadership at a Catholic University" as part of a series of lectures. His talk is June 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Woulfe Alumni Hall in the Anderson Student Center.

The series opened in March with the Rev. Robert Spitzer, former president of Gonzaga University, followed by Lee Shulman, former president of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Scheduled this fall are visits from the Rev. James Burns of Boston College and Patricia O'Hara of Notre Dame School of Law.
