A woman found dead outside in St. Paul's Highland Park neighborhood Monday died of hypothermia from exposure, according to the Ramsey County medical examiners office.

The woman's identity is not being released pending notification of her relatives, said Lori Hedican, chief investigator for the medical examiner's office.

The woman lived in the area where she was found, Hedican said. Police found the woman about 11 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue S. Police have said her death is not suspicious.

It's unknown how long the woman was outside before succumbing to the weather. Authorities have not said whether she was wearing weather-appropriate clothing.

Toxicology results, which could take six to eight weeks, are pending.

Hedican said her office has not seen any other weather-related deaths in light of the recent snowfall and drop in temperature.
