St. Paul police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Saturday evening in a St. Paul apartment building.

Police said Sunday that investigators have determined that it was not a domestic situation. The victim was married and the suspect was a 54-year-old male acquaintance, they said.

Police said that a dispute took place between the two parties, leaving the female victim dead. The suspect is being held at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue East to assist St. Paul fire medics around 5:30 p.m., according to police. "We got there, and she was dead," said Sgt. Paul Paulos, public information officer for the St. Paul Police Department.

The woman's name and age were not released, pending confirmation with the Ramsey County medical examiner's office.
