A 66-year-old woman has died after a minivan struck her as she crossed a St. Paul street last week.

Xey Yang, of St. Paul, died late Friday from her injuries, said Sgt. Paul Paulos, a St. Paul police spokesman.

The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of White Bear and Idaho avenues. Yang, who was struck in the crosswalk, was brought to Regions Hospital.

Police said at the time that Yang was wearing dark-colored clothing and that there aren't streetlights at the intersection, factors that could have contributed to the incident.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police. The driver wasn't immediately cited, but the county attorney's office is reviewing the case for possible charges, Paulos said.
