St. Paul police are investigating the suspicious death of man whose body was discovered Sunday night on the city's North End.
The man, who has not been positively identified, was found inside a home on West Rose Avenue about 10:30 p.m.
Sgt. Mike Ernster, a police spokesman, said authorities found a "gruesome" scene when they responded to a weapons call and found a man dead in the home with a "brutal" head injury.
"We don't believe this was a random incident," Ernster said.
At least two other people were in the home at the time, he said, adding that they've spoken to investigators. There are no arrests or suspect descriptions in the case.
The homicide does not appear linked to others in the city, Ernster said.
Police did not say how the man died, or whether weapons were recovered at the scene, which is still being processed.
Neighbor Sara Bun said the home where the homicide occurred was owned by a young man who appeared to be in his 20s. He had about four roommates of similar age, and "quite a few" young men frequented the residence.
