November 2, 2013 at 11:17PM

Authorities have identified the St. Paul woman who was killed in a hit-and-run Friday night as they continue to search for the driver of the vehicle that hit her.

Therese Klotz, 53, died at Regions Hospital after being hit by an SUV as she was standing outside her car in the 700 block of Randolph Avenue about 6:40 p.m. Police say she had just parked in front of a home and got out of the car on the traffic side of the street. She was talking to her friend, who had been a passenger, when the friend heard a thud and saw the SUV continue driving east on Randolph Avenue, police said.

Investigators found a silver right mirror cover, possibly from a 2005 or newer Lexus or similar style vehicle, at the scene. Officers also plan to check images from security cameras on businesses in the mostly residential area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Paul traffic investigations unit at 651-266-5582.
