St. Paul Police Department gets honored by Midway chamber

March 1, 2014 at 7:46PM

The Midway Chamber of Commerce honored several local organizations, including the St. Paul Police Department, last month for its contributions to the chamber and the Midway community.

The Police Department received the organization/nonprofit of the year award. The department has been an active member of the chamber for the past seven years.

Its officers have not only served on the chamber's board of directors and participated in organizational programming, they have also helped serve the community by keeping it safe and through events such as Shop with Cops, where they help children shop for holiday gifts for their families.

Other award recipients included the St. Paul Saints, O'Gara's restaurant and Terri Banaszewski of Sunrise Banks.
