St. Paul motorcyclist, 61, killed while navigating curve in Mille Lacs County

September 10, 2016 at 5:18AM

A St. Paul motorcyclist died early Friday in central Minnesota after his Harley-Davidson went off the road while heading into a curve.

John G. Troyer, 61, was headed west on Hwy. 27 at 45th Avenue, just west of Isle, Minn., when his bike veered off the street and rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Troyer died at the scene before authorities arrived about 7:10 a.m.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. He was wearing a helmet.

Later Friday morning, an 11-year-old girl was airlifted to an area hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Chisago Lakes Township left her with serious injuries. A passerby performed CPR on the child before emergency workers arrived. She is expected to survive.
