St. Paul libraries offering free e-magazines

February 9, 2013 at 10:12PM

Both the St. Paul Public Library and the Ramsey County Library systems now offer 100 popular magazines for free downloading.

The magazines cover a wide range that includes Consumer Reports, Newsweek, O -- The Oprah Magazine, Men's Health, The Economist and more.

"The demand for downloadable books, music and audio books increases daily," said John Larson, digital manager for the St. Paul library.

In St. Paul, library patrons can subscribe to a magazine through the library, get an e-mail notice when the latest issue is available and then download it to read on computers, tablets or mobile devices.

There are no subscription limits or due dates. Registration requires creating two free Zinio accounts for browsing magazines and subscribing. Patrons should complete registration before downloading their app. For instructions, go to www.sppl.org/research/zinio or www.rclreads.org/research/zinio for Ramsey County.
