St. Olaf auctions off a sweet ride

The Northfield, Minn., college is taking bids on the 1954 Ford. Proceeds will benefit the Class of 1961 endowed scholarship fund.

When an alumnus alerted me that St. Olaf College was auctioning off this 1954 Ford two-door, I had visions of a janitor stumbling upon it in an old campus garage, removing a cover to reveal it in perfect, rust-free shape.

Turns out it was donated by a couple of alumni: Carolyn and Dennie Devine, who graduated in 1960 and 1961, respectively.

The Northfield, Minn., college is taking bids on the vehicle. Proceeds will benefit the Class of 1961 endowed scholarship fund. St. Olaf's Facebook page has the rules. And this cool detail:
