A van making a U-turn on a highway north of the Twin Cities collided with a husband and wife on a motorcycle, killing the couple, authorities said Friday.

The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 95 west of Cambridge, the State Patrol said.

Killed were bikers Jayson A. Ingvall, 44, and his wife, Melonie M. Ingvall, 43, both of St. Francis. The van's driver, Jesse P. Morgan, 41, of Zimmerman, was not hurt.

According to the patrol: Morgan was on the right shoulder of eastbound Hwy. 95 near Vale Drive NW. and attempting to make a U-turn. The motorcycle hit the van just behind the driver's side door.

The Ingvalls were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where they died.
