U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., has her first challenger.

Former DFL state House candidate Anne Nolan of St. Cloud will campaign to unseat the Sixth Congressional District Republican and former presidential candidate. Nolan has planned a public campaign launch for 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Cloud Public Library.

Nolan has run for state House seats twice in the past decade, losing both times. She'll seek the DFL endorsement to run against Bachmann during the Sixth Congressional District convention in mid-April.

Bachmann will to run in the Sixth District even though she's no longer a resident. Minnesota's once-a-decade political redistricting pushed her Stillwater home into the Fourth Congressional District, which Democrat U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum has represented since 2001.
