Bruce Springsteen's new album "Wrecking Ball" will be released March 6, he announced today.
It was coproduced by Ron Aniello, who is new to the Springsteen world — unless you count producing Patti Scialfa's 2007 disc "Play It as It Lays."
He has produced albums by such lightweight pop bands as Barenaked Ladies, Lifehouse and Jars of Clay as well as recent CDs by Gavin DeGraw and Alison Iraheta of "American Idol" fame.
No word on how much -- if at all -- the late Clarence Clemons contributed to "Wrecking Ball."
It is Springsteen's followup to 2009's "Working on a Dream," one of his lesser efforts.

Springsteen has announced his 2012 European tour dates but not his U.S. ones.
