'We Are Hmong Minnesota'

Opening Saturday: This November marks the 40th anniversary of the Hmong migration to Minnesota. Members of the ethnic group came to the U.S. to flee the war in Southeast Asia. In tribute to the 66,000 Hmong Minnesotans, a Minnesota History Center exhibit highlights their contributions. The exhibit is divided into three sections: life in Laos, an art installation that evokes transition, and life in Minnesota. Opening day is celebrated with music and dance performances, demonstrations and hands-on activities. (Opening day, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. March 7, free. Exhibit 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tue., free after 5 p.m.; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Sat.; noon-5 p.m. Sun. $6-$11. Closes Nov. 29. 345 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. www.mnhs.org.)
