Spotlight: Dan Patch Days

June 21, 2008 at 2:57PM

Ends today: Dan Patch might have been a standard-bred, but the multiday festival to honor his memory each year is definitely thoroughbred. You can catch the tail as it flies by today, beginning with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post in Savage.
A community worship service begins at 10 a.m. in the Community Park, and a juried art competition starts at 10 a.m. at Savage Art Studios. By noon you'll have worked off your pancakes, so stop by the American Legion pig roast. The festival ends with a parade through downtown, beginning at 1 p.m. (Various locations in Savage. See website for addresses and map. www.danpatchdays.org.)
