'All Is Calm'

This week: Theater Latté Da and Cantus developed this small theatrical jewel in 2007 and first mounted it in church auditoriums. In 2009, the production moved to the Pantages Theatre and has become a popular and meaningful meditation on the power of holidays, traditions, faith and the horrors of war. It is based on the Christmas truces that arose spontaneously on the front lines in 1914, the first year of World War I. This will be the last time Cantus participates in the production. The superb singing group has other obligations and wants to move on. Latté Da's Peter Rothstein stitched together the book of this musical from letters, diaries and official announcements, and he has said he'll bring the show back in a different form. That should be its own excitement, but the last chance locally to see this collaboration is well worth the effort. (7:30 p.m. Wed.-Fri., 2 & 7:30 p.m. Sat., 1 & 6:30 p.m. next Sun. $28-$39. Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 1-800-982-2787, www.hennepintheatretrust.org.)

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
